Apple Watch‬, ‪Apple Inc.‬‬

Apple Watch 2 rumours have started making the rounds of the online world. The latest speculation is that Apple Watch 2 will come with a much thinner display by using the One Glass Solution or OGS touchscreen to that effect. OGS touchscreens help in getting rid of one glass layers from the capacitive touchscreen stack.

This news gets more gravitas thanks to a Digitimes report which also claims that touch panel maker TPK Holdings has also claimed that Apple will go from G/G to OGS in the new Apple Watch.

According to TPK Holdings, the company revenue took a hit after Apple decided to go with OGS for Apple Watch 2. However, Digitimes is not the most accurate source for Apple news, so this information should be taken with a pinch of salt.
In another report, if in case Apple does not go with a thinner design, then it will most likely use that space to house in a larger battery or other components. This is keeping in line with the previously rumoured standalone LTE cellular connectivity sporting Apple Watch 2 with a built-in GPS as well.

There are no speculations on which date Apple Watch 2 is expected to be launched. Some are hinting at a fall launch since watchOS 3 is releasing then.
