If Facebook is sending your phone too many annoying SMS text messages you may want to turn it off. While it is easy to setup, the process to disconnect and deactivate Facebook SMS text messages is a bit harder to find, but equally easy to execute.
Log into Facebook from your computer, What does one do if they are NOT Facebook members?. Go to the notification settings page: http://www.facebook.com/mobile/?settings
Click "Off" in the Facebook Text Messages
Click "Save Preferences" in the bottom of the page.
From your phone, text "Off" (but remove the "quotation" marks) to the number you send your Facebook Status updates to.
- In the United States, that number is 32665 (Facebook)
You will get a message in reply saying: "Facebook texts are now off. Reply "on" to turn back on."
